Shannon Courtney
University of Northern Colorado 2017

       

Shannon Courtney is the Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator and Senior Lecturer at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. She earned both her BA and her MA in Kinesiology from the University of Northern Colorado.

​

Shannon started her career in 1990 with the Denver Broncos Sports Medicine clinic. The next year, she was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Colorado College. In 1991, she began a long and successful career back at UNC serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, Instructor, Head Athletic Trainer, Head Athletic Training Education Program Director, Senior Lecturer and Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator.

Throughout her career, Shannon has contributed significantly to the educational components of the Athletic Training profession. She served on the BOC Exam Administration Committee from 2004 – 2007 and is currently the Chair of the RMATA Student Committee.

​

Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband, Jay and her two sons, Payton and Corte.
