Nancy Weir

Nancy Weir has been the heart and soul of Weber State University NCAA Division I varsity athletics for over 25 years.

​

In 1979, Nancy completed her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She then served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah from 1979-1980.  Nancy returned to school in 1980 and completed her master’s degree in human performance at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL in 1982, while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.  Over the next year, she served as the assistant athletic trainer at Montana State University at Bozeman, Montana.  In 1983, she joined the staff at Weber State University and has been there ever since.

Nancy has volunteered her professional services to organizations like, the Olympics, the World Cup, the Utah Summer Games, Utah High School Basketball tournaments, and The Olympic Training Center.  Additionally, over the last 25 years, Nancy has made countless presentations in Junior High and High Schools promoting the athletic training profession.

​

Nancy has provided leadership and service to the profession as well.  She has served as secretary of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association and was part of the original group that organized the RMATA in 1982.  She has held various positions on committees for the RMATA and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.  She has given of her time, energy, and heart to her athletes, students, and profession.
