Bill G. Bean MS, PT, AT-R

Bill Bean attended Utah State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science with a Sport Medicine concentration in 1971. He served as an Officer in the US Army Medical Service Corp, as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Washington State University and as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Utah Stars before continuing on to receive his Masters from the University of Utah in 1978. Bill worked as the Director of Sports Medicine for the Utah Athletic Department for several years. In 1986, he successfully completed an additional BS in Physical Therapy from the University of Utah, where he continued to work at a part time staff Physical Therapist within the Orthopedic Center. Bill has been a member of RMATA since 1968 and has held numerous positions with in the Utah Athletic Training Association including: Vice President and Chair of the Licensure Committee. Throughout his career, Bill has had the opportunity to work as volunteer medical staff for the Lake Placid and Salt Lake City Olympics. Bill says, “now that I have retired from Athletic Training my fondest memories are of the students I had, the opportunity to mentor, and the wonderful people I worked with.” Bill passed his interest in health care down to his two sons—Brandon and Justin—and is married to his wife, Nancy.
