Letter from the President

Dear CATA member,

I hope this letter finds you well after the craziness of the fall season. Thank you again for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read this newsletter and become informed on the activities of our association.

The fall has brought about many activities of the association: This past weekend the CATA held its fourth annual fall meeting.  The CATA partnering with Vail Summit Orthopedics offered a multi-topic symposium. I would like to thank Greg Schlossinger of VSO and Carrie Meyer for their hard work and dedication to the fall meeting. Secondly, now, that the financial burdens of Legislation have lessened the CATA Treasurer and BOD has been and will continue conducting a budget analysis to determine what ways we can use our member contributions to support our committees in the upcoming fiscal year. We have begun the Athletic Trainer Registration process with the DORA application becoming available on October 1, 2009.

Finally, our committees are hard at work to advance the association, please read their reports found later in the newsletter. We have some committee openings posted below as well.

Again, I can’t thank enough the BOD, committee chairs and members for their hard work to advance our association.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me or any BOD member as we are here to serve you.

Sincerely,

Jenn Dougherty

CATA President

The SAT Committee is brainstorming date and location for this year's High School Student Athletic Training Symposium.  We have had lots of success in the past few years!  We have sent out surveys to athletic trainers in the state to give feedback on what they think the high school students should be learning during the symposium.  If have not yet responded or would like to give your input please e-mail Jaclyn at jmlucasatc@yahoo.com
