Goals of Licensure/Regulation for Athletic Trainers in Colorado

Simply stated, the CATA is seeking licensure as way to regulate our profession.  Our ultimate goal in this pursuit is to protect the public by assuring that:

         1.  Only persons who are appropriately qualified are allowed to practice athletic

                training;

          2.  Persons who are not qualified are prevented from practicing athletic

                training;

          3.  Regulatory oversight of those persons who are authorized to engage in

                such practice.

The NATA regards this pursuit of regulation as its #1 goal for all state associations.

CATA Hosts Social near the Capitol

On January 17, 2006, the CATA hosted a  Legislator Social at the City Grill in Denver.  Here, the CATA BOD and members were given the opportunity “meet and greet” Legislators in a social environment. It was a great “get to know us” event with a great turnout from our Legislators.
