House Bill 1127 was passed out of the Senate today on third reading by a vote of 26-8.

The bill will return to the house for considerations of the senate amendments. We are going to request/recommend that Representative Reisburg make a motion in the house to accept the changes and re-pass the bill in the house.

Representative Riesburg can make a motion to NOT accept the amendments and go to a conference committee of both house and senate members to negotiate the merits of each bill, or he can make a motion to adhere to the house position this would give the senate no choice to accept the house version of the bill or kill the bill.

Representative Riesburg has always been concerned about opportunity for athletic trainers and appropriate regulation of us. Charlie Hebeler will educate Representative Riesburg on the amendments and inform him that we were not opposed to them; especially since they were a reasonable compromise with the physical therapy group we hope that he will agree to accept the senate amendments. If that occurs then we are on to the Governors desk.

Two more steps and we have achieved our goal!
