i. Has done a great job at getting corporate sponsors (15 at this point) ii. Jason is also the exhibit coordinator for the District and that has helped us get more exposure for the CATA.
i. Vice President, At-Large, and Secretary positions are open for elections. Nominations are open for 5months. ii. Chris M. opened the floor for nominations 1. Dominic Dimanna nominated Carrie Meyer for Vice pres.-Gwenyth Short seconded 2. Rick Hendricks nominated Gregg Harper for Secretary-Mike Keirns seconded 3. Robert Ryan nominated Lisa Lear for Member-at-Large-Chris Nagelhout Seconded
i. Kevin is always looking for help with this task. Let Lisa Lear know if you are interested.
i. Winner of Jim Conboy scholarship is Jeff Diets and Dan Libera Scholarship went to Meghan Fowler. ii. Not very many students are applying. Encourage your students to apply! iii. Colleen Conroy also interested in getting a State Hall of Fame going.
i. A student Symposium was put on at Overland High School on June 9, 2007. There were 18 present. ii. Jaclyn needs help with this committee
i. Kelly has done a great job at keeping the website up to date and keep members current. Kelly encourages more people to go to the website. ii. She would like to get the website more user friendly and visually pleasing as well.
i. In the process of redefining this committee. ii. We have not asked the question, why do we care what others know about us.
i. Dominic DiManna has resigned that position. Need a person for this committee to chair as well as other participants
i. Been working on this for 3 years ii. Have accomplished educating the public, our members, legislators iii. Failed in the Governor spot. iv. Process from here on out is to decide whether we will do this again. v. We have a 15month review process vi. Governor meeting will take place soon vii. The Board is going to hear from the members, get the NATA input, and meet with the Governor viii. Chris asked for the members thoughts 1. Mike Keirns thanked everyone for the efforts 2. Gwenyth Short asked if the NATA wants this to still go forward- Chris will meet with the NATA this next week. 3. Chris Nagelhout thinks we should try again. 4. If it is decided to go for licensure again, what are the steps? a. Go through Sunrise review again Jennifer want to stay active no matter what happens with Hit the Hill day at the Capital so that we can maintain a presence.
i. Nothing significant happening
i. Need a Colorado Representative-let Chris know if interested
i. Access to physical rehabilitation bill in place on the national side
i. If you have concerns or ideas for this committee, let Lisa know ii. NATA website has a great resource on Secondary Schools
i. We have never had a representative-Again let Chris know
i. Nothing filed. Kevin just got appointed
i. YES-most likely in Vail again ii. Also will have a Leadership Summit at that meeting to get people interested in becoming more involved
i. Motion passed unanimously
