Registration for the 2012 CATA Spring Symposium and Business Meeting is now open.  This year's meeting will be held June 2-3, 2012 at Presbyterian St. Luke's (PSL) Hospital "Colorado" Rooms.  PSL is located at 1719 E. 19th Ave, Denver.

Congratulations to the following Colorado athletic trainers for being recognized as the 2012 Denver Nuggets Excellence in High School Athleting Training Award winners:  Lindsay Adcock, Regis Jesuit High School; Alyssa Fredericks, Durango High School; and Kat Koehler, Windsor High School.  These ladies were honored at the March 9th Denver Nuggets game and received and AED and $2000 for their athletic training rooms.  Thanks to Jim Gillen and the Denver Nuggets for continuing to recognize Colorado athletic trainers!

              


The 14th Annual High School Student Athletic Training Symposium will be held on June 2, 2012 in conjunction with CATA Symposium at Presbyterian St. Luke's in Denver.  To register and to view the agenda for the symposium, please click here for the form.  Online registration will begin May 1, 2012.


Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2012 CATA Hall of Fame recipients.  To nominate a deserving Colorado athletic trainer, please click on the Scholarships and Awards link above. All nominations should be received by May 4, 2012. 


Changes in CATA Leadership...The CATA would like to extend a very special thank you to Carrie Meyer for her many years of outstanding service in the Vice President position!  Jason McWilliams has been appointed by the Board of Directors to fill the Vice President position, and Kelly Brick has been appointed to fill the Member at Large position vacated by Jason. 

The second Member at Large position will also be open.  Because this position will be opening in a non-election year, the Board of Directors will be appointing this position.  If you are interested in serving in this position, please contact Jenn Dougherty, CATA President.

The CATA is seeking a committee chair for the following committees:
  • Corporate Sponsorship Committee - This position is responsible for seeking out and coordinating working relationships with sports medicine organizations interested forming a sponsorship role with the CATA. 
  • Education Committee Chair - This position will work closely with the CATA Vice-President to plan and organize educational events.
  • Information Director - This position is responsible for updating/maintaining the CATA website, sending out information in the form of eblast and newsletters to the membership and overseeing the social media sites of the CATA.  Web design experience is not necessary. 

Anyone interested in serving in these roles should contact Jenn Dougherty, CATA President.  We are always looking for members who want to serve within the CATA to let us know.
